Tour Details

Summer is here with this exciting fun package designed to get you outdoors. By joining our tour, You will have the best of both, fire & water, when you embark on this day trip. Your first stop is at the Valley of Fire State Park where the red sandstone seems to be blazing on fire due to the sun’s bright reflection. You will get the opportunity to see and feel the sandstone formations made to look like elephants and some old world Native Indian petroglyphs. Valley of Fire was an area that has been used for television and film including Transformers (2007). When it starts to heat up, we will move on to Callville Bay at Lake Mead, where you will get to cool down in one of the largest man-made reservoirs and our nation’s first National Recreation Area. When you arrive, you will stop briefly for lunch on the marina while your guide loads the boat for tubing and views of the Hoover Dam. You will get to view this marvelous structure from the lake it formed by the damming of the Colorado River. The desert landscape surrounding the largest man-made reservoir is truly a sight to see, especially when you are tubing and enjoying your day on the water. We will make a final stop at Lovers Cove, near Callville Bay, to enjoy a little relaxation time on a sandy beach, or if you’re still feeling the adrenaline from tubing, we can cross over to the island with small cliffs to jump from. Such an adventure packed into a single day will make this tour unforgettable.

What you will do:
– Sightseeing – Hiking – View petroglyphs – Learn historical facts – Take pictures

Nevada’s first and oldest State Park is your first stop on this tour. You will visit Atlatl Rock, the CCC Cabins, John J. Clark memorial cross, and Elephant Rock. Valley of Fire gets the name from when the sun reflects off the red sandstone making it appear on fire. Atlatl Rock is a short hike to view magnificent petroglyphs once made by the Native Indians. You will take a stop at the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) Cabins built from the sandstone for travelers in 1930 which is now used as a picnic area. John J. Clark memorial cross is the sight where he died in 1915 while traveling to Southern California. Elephant Rock is a famous arch structure that resembles an elephant that is widely captured in photography. Valley of Fire has been used for many motion pictures and television shows including Total Recall (1990), Star Trek Generations (1994), and Transformers (2007).

Callville Bay, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam:

What you will do:
– Boat ride to Hoover Dam – Sightseeing – Swimming – Tubing – Take pictures

Callville was once a Mormon settlement that was established in 1865. It was abandoned in 1869 and was submerged under Lake Mead when the Colorado River was dammed. Callville Bay still retains the name and now has a marina for many types of boats and water activities. You will take a boat from Callville Bay to the Hoover Dam and view this marvelous structure from the perspective of Lake Mead. While you relax on the boat ride taking in the desert landscape, you can climb on to a large tube being pulled by the boat. Enjoy one of the best lake activities, tubing,  jumping the boats wake while you hold on to dear life.

Lovers Cove, Lake Mead:

What you will do:
– Sightseeing – Swimming – Floating – Beach activities – Explore the Island – Take pictures – Build relationships

Lovers Cove is a secluded, sandy beach area that has a small island nearby. The sandy beach is free of rocks with shallow waters. A great place to float around on a tube or just relax while taking a break from the summer heat You can play in the water or cross the submerged sandbar to the island. The island is a rocky outcrop that sticks out of the lake, especially when the water is low. This small rocky island is surrounded mostly by deep water which gives you small cliffs to jump from. You can sometimes see fish swimming deep in the water when standing on this island. There is no shade at this locations so be prepared with a hat and use plenty of sunscreen.
